At the Tulip Fields with Chicwish!

I finally had the opportunity to check out the Abbotsford Bloom Tulip Festival a couple weeks ago.  It did not disappoint, the flowers were absolutely gorgeous! I decided to wear this beautiful floral skirt that one of my favourite online boutiques Chicwish had gifted me!

I have been shopping on the Chicwish site for years so I was thrilled when they reached out to see if I would be interested in styling some of their clothing.  Their pieces are vintage inspired, super feminine and fun, which I absolutely love!  The clothing is great quality, set still affordable.  I fell in love with this skirt as soon as I saw it.  This beautiful backdrop seemed like the perfect occasion to finally showcase it!

Spring Dress Inspiration

I have said it before, I am a sucker for a great floral print! I think this is probably why Spring is my favourite season. Not that I am floral exclusive in the Spring, but it is definitely a print that I am drawn to.  I have even made my floral hating bff  (I’m talking to you Amber… LOL) introduce a few subtle blooms into her wardrobe!  I also adore lace, eyelet, polka dots, stripes, pastels… I guess I love it all! I have selected a bunch of gorgeous dresses if you are searching for a wardrobe update this Spring. As always, I have limited my selections to some of the more affordable ones 🙂

Spring Dresses

One. Striped Tank Dress // Two. Light Green Calf-Length Dress // Three. White Embroidered Dress // Four. Floral Dress with Smocking // Five. Smocked Floral Dress // Six. Bell Sleeve Wrap Midi Dress // Seven. Stripe Midi Sundress // Eight. Button Through Ruffle Hem Dress // Nine. V-Neck Chiffon Floral // Ten. Button Through Floral Print Maxi // Eleven. Purple Polka Dot Dress // Twelve. Eyelet Tie-Waist Dress // Thirteen. Denim Blue Wrap Dress

Five Trends to Try this Spring

Spring is in the air 🙂 Our temperature here in Vancouver has drastically improved this past week and I am SO excited for this season! I always love big and bold florals for Spring but there are a few other trends I am excited to try this year. I feel like animal print is still going to be everywhere, which I obviously LOVE and lace is always a seasonal favourite of mine as well.  There are also a few other trends I noticed on the runways though that I think we are going to be seeing a lot of in the upcoming months.

Leopard shirtdress

  1. Hair Accessories: I am SO on board with this trend. I am loving all of the cute barrettes, silk scarves, scrunchies and headbands that I am seeing everywhere!

Knot Headbands // Pearl Barrettes // Velvet Scrunchie Set // Circle + Triangle Barrettes // Floral Print Hair Scarf

2.  Crochet: I cannot believe how much cute crochet there is available right now. From delicate details on a dress to entire bathing suits! Fun and festival inspired, I think we will be seeing a lot of it this Spring.

Tunic // Maxi Dress // Pencil Dress // Mini Skirt // Floral Kimono

3.  Neons: I grew up in the 90s so this is a style I can totally get on board with… LOL! These super vibrant shades were one of the biggest things I noticed during the Spring Fashion Week shows. 2019 is definitely going to be colourful!

Halter Mini Dress // Tie Waist Blouse // Midi Slip Dress // Polka Dot Mini Dress // Cardigan

4. Spring Suiting: This trend I absolutely adore! I have been seeing so many cute sorbet inspired boss babe suits popping up! It looks super chic and I will definitely be sporting this look to my office.  Love love love!

Yellow Blazer // Yellow Pants // Blue Suit // Fuchsia Suit

5. Tie Dye:  If I’m being honest, this was probably the hardest trend for me to get behind, but it is definitely persistent! You are never going to see me in an obnoxious multicoloured hooded sweatshirt, but I am starting to like some of the more subtle pieces I have seen out there.

Mock Neck Sweater // Button-Down Jumpsuit // Maxi Dress // Joggers // Crewneck Tee

So what do you think? Do you see yourself rocking any of these trends this year?

Bold Floral Dress!

Once in a while, an article of clothing comes along and I know without a shred of uncertainty that my life can simply no longer go on without it! This beautiful pink mix floral dress was one of them 😉 It is conservative in length but adds an element of fun with the open back and slit.  It is super feminine and flattering, which I always love.  In my desperation I made the mistake of paying full price, but lucky for you it is now on clearance!!! Best Friends Style Series: Christine!

I started a new series on my blog a couple weeks ago called ‘My Best Friends Style Series’. If you missed reading about my gorgeous bestie Amber you can do so here.

My best friend Christine is literally one of the most hilarious people I have ever met! People naturally gravitate towards her.  It is actually super annoying as I am constantly trying to defend my title as her bff… there is always someone who wants to take my place… LOL! Her sense of style completely matches her personality… classy and FUN!  Her wardrobe is a mix of classic and trendy pieces and she is always dressed completely on point for whatever the occassion.

Christine’s Style Staples:

Great Denim

Lots of stripes

Dresses that can transition from day to-night

Accessories: Fun Sunglasses, Delicate Jewelry

Trendy Tops: off the shoulder, tie sleeves, cold shoulder

Christine is our boss babe. She works in human resources by day, so her classy and professional style always carries over to her outside of work looks.  She is seriously the life of the party.  So a huge component of her personal style is work wear that can transition from the office to going out for dinner with a group of friends afterwards, with a quick shoe or accessory change.

I have rounded up a bunch of Christine-style pieces below if you love her look and are wanting some inspiration:

The Cutest Red Pants!

I think it is safe to say by now that I am a huge fan of colour!  I definitely went through a stage where I was trying to be a little more understated and a large portion of my closet was all black, but ultimately that just didn’t last. I can’t help but be drawn to bright, bold colours and super fun prints.  I had to stay true to myself and my own sense of style!  When I saw these pants I had to have them.  First and foremost, I am a dress lover. So I guess for me personally, if I am going to buy pants they aren’t going to be ordinary! I think these fall into the fun category… LOL

They are super easy to dress up or down.  I decided to wear them with a simple tank and heels.  I’m 5 foot 7 inches and they were long enough to wear with a 4 inch heel.  I would say they are true to size or if you are in between, then size down!
