The Best Sugar Cookie Recipe!

The best sugar cookies

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I figured it would be fitting to share my Mom’s delicious sugar cookie recipe today 🙂  I don’t only use this recipe at Christmas time, it is also my go to for baking throughout the year. This recipe makes the PERFECT sugar cookies!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups flour

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg yolk, slightly beaten

3 tbsp. milk

1/2 tsp.vanilla

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees

Cream butter, add the sugar and mix

Add the egg yolk, mix well

Add dry ingredients alternately with milk

Add the vanilla

Chill your dough thoroughly

Roll 1/4 inch thick

Bake  at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes

Wait for the cookies to completely cool before you ice them

New Years Eve Outift Inspiration!

I love New Years Eve! Quite honestly, I love any occasion to get dressed up 🙂  I mean, I suppose I could wear sequins to the office on a Wednesday morning, but I might get some funny looks! Happy Cyber Monday everyone 🙂 Today I am sharing my gift guide for HER! A few of these items I already own and a couple are definitely on my wish list! Fabulous (and affordable) New Years Eve dresses!

Good morning everyone!  I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas with you loved ones.  Ours was chaotic and crazy, but in the best possible way 🙂  Of course after Christmas comes New Years… and I don’t know about you, but I LOVE getting dressed up for New Years Eve!  There is always a part of me that thinks perhaps I am getting a bit too old to be wearing these Vegas inspired sequined dresses.. but then I choose to ignore that practical part of me and pick out the cutest one possible… LOL!

The Perfect Christmas Dress!

I absolutely love this time of year.  Yes it can get a little hectic, but for the most part it is so much fun!  Lots of family outings, activities and celebrating with loved ones.  Ask any of my friends and they will tell you that I love to embrace a good theme.  Christmas is no exception!  I have owned my fair share of ugly Christmas sweaters and festive onesie pyjamas, but in my heart, I am a dress lover!  This is my very first holiday themed sweater dress!  As soon as I saw this cute snowman’s face, I knew that I had to have it… LOL!  But seriously, how fun is this dress for holiday get-togethers, parties and even to wear to work (with tights an a blazer for a more responsible look of course… haha!)
