Instagram Outfits

I’ve had quite a few messages asking about various outfits I have been wearing in my Instagram photos.  I though it would be fun to do a quick roundup and provide some direct links to my clothing and accessories.  If there is one thing I love more than finding a good deal, it is sharing it!  Happy shopping friends 🙂

Dark Floral Dresses

Happy Monday everyone!  Starting this week off by talking about one of my favourite purchases from this summer, this black floral maxi dress.  I have always thought of floral prints to be traditionally an exclusive of Spring and Summer,  but as of late I have noticed darker floral prints seem to be appearing more and more.  This is a trend I can definitely jump on board with!  I adore floral print anything, so the idea of being able to continue wearing it into the upcoming cooler seasons definitely excites me!  I find with the dark background it can give the print a bit of edginess while still looking feminine.  I wore this dress all summer with sandals and open toed heels, but now plan to switch it up for Fall with a cute pair of ankle boots and a cozy cardigan.

Colour Predictions for Fall 2017 Part 3

On Monday I started my segment on the Pantone Colour predictions for Fall 2017.  I touched on four of the forecasted colours so far: Grenadine, Tawny Port, Ballet Slipper and Butterum.  Today I am talking about Navy Peony and Neutral Gray.  These two colours are guaranteed to be in my personal clothing lineup for this fall!

PANTONE 19-4029 Navy Peony

A mainstay for the season for both palettes, Navy Peony is a dependable and an anchoring shade. Solid and stable, the hue takes some of the load off of black as a go-to neutral. (Description courtesy of the Pantone website.)

Navy Peony

  1. Satin Midi Skirt  //  2. Fitted Jacket //  3. Cardigan  //  4. Linen Blend Scarf  // 5. Ankle Boot  //  6. Bell Cuff Sweater  //  7. Lace Dress

PANTONE 17-4402 Neutral Gray

The standard bearer of all neutrals, Neutral Gray shares the anchoring role with Navy Peony in this palette. It can be used as an accent or a head-to-toe statement shade. (Description courtesy of the Pantone website.)

Neutral Grey

  1. Scarf  //  2. Cold Shoulder Sweater  //  3. Skinny Jeans  //  4. Bell Sleeve Sweater Dress  //  5. Ankle Boot  //  6. Rib Knit Cardigan  //  7. Open Front Cardigan

See you tomorrow for Shaded Spruce and Golden Lime!

Yesterday I started my segment on the Pantone Colour predictions for Fall 2017.  I touched on two colours that I think are so beautiful: Grenadine and Tawny Port.  Today I will be sharing my finds for Ballet Slipper & Butterum!

PANTONE 13-2808 Ballet Slipper

Descended from the Red family but with a softer touch, Ballet Slipper is always flattering and reminiscent of the rosy glow of health. (Description courtesy of the Pantone website.)

Ballet Slipper

  1. Fine-knit Sweater  //  2. Cold Shoulder Sweater  //  3. Purse  //  4. Pleated Dress  //  5.  Skinny Jeans  //  6. Scarf  //  7. Faux Fur Coat

(I picked up number 2. during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I have my eye on number 7. …. lol)

PANTONE 16-1341 Butterum

This snug, warming, and toasty shade is evocative of drinking a glass of Butterrum by a roaring fire on a cool autumn evening.  (Description courtesy of the Pantone website.)

Butterum

  1. Merino wool Sweater  //  2.  Striped Dress  //  3. Felt Hat  //   4. Joggers  //  5. Ankle Boot  //  6. Sweater  //  7. Slide Loafer

See you tomorrow for Navy Peony and Neutral Gray!

Colour Predictions for Fall 2017

One thing that stands out vividly in my memory from when I took my Fashion Forecasting program was Pantone’s colour predictions. The Pantone Institute will predict their top 10 colours for fashion in the upcoming season, based on what is seen at New York Fashion Week.  Below are the colours they have chosen for Fall 2017.

pantonte

(Image courtesy of the Pantone website)

I personally feel the forecasted colour palette is absolutely gorgeous!  Ballet slipper is a continuation of the beautiful blush colour that I was crushing on all summer.  I love to dress colourfully so I am excited to see shades like Grenadine, Shaded Spruce and Marina in the lineup.  Brown tones do not look great on me due to my colouring so I tend to gravitate more towards the grays as far as neutrals.  That being said, Butterum and Autumn Maple are still very attractive colours for those who are fortunate enough to wear them.

I have collected some articles of clothing and accessories in all of these colours if you are wanting to introduce any of them into your existing wardrobe for this Fall!  I will be posting two of the colour trends each day this week so make sure you check back 🙂

PANTONE 17-1558 Grenadine

“A powerful, evocative, dynamic red, Grenadine is a confident and self-assured attention-getter.” (Description courtesy of the Pantone website.)

Grenadine

  1. Drop Earrings  // 2. Long Cardigan  // 3. Wrap dress  // 4. Blazer  // 5. Boatneck Sweater  // 6. Trousers  //   7. Kate Spade Tote  // 8. Loafer

PANTONE 19-1725 Tawny Port

“Taking the Red family to new depths, Tawny Port is elegant, sophisticated, and tasteful.” (Description courtesy of the Pantone website.)

Tawny Port

  1. Dress  // 2. Rib-knit Cardigan  // 3. Sweatshirt Dress  // 4.  Nylon Kate Spade Tote  // 5.  Cold Shoulder Sweater//  6.  Wool Blend Coat  // 7. Hooded Parka  // 8. Sateen Knee High Boot

I will be back tomorrow with my finds for the next two colours: Ballet Slipper and Butterum!

My New Staple: Backpacks!

Back in the Spring I had to fly with our two boys on my own (then 2 1/2 years and 6 months).  I was extremely nervous about how I was going to juggle everything, being as I am a mother with only two arms and unfortunately in this circumstance, not an octopus!  I decided to buy a cute little backpack to use instead of my diaper bag so that I had one less thing I needed to worry about carrying.  It worked out awesome! I could hold my older son’s hand on one side and carry my baby in the other arm, without the diaper bag constantly slipping off my shoulder.  I used it as my purse the entire time we were away and now I actually use it when I am out and about without the kids all the time.

Backpacks are so cute and they are available in all colours, styles and price ranges.  I have rounded up a collection of various priced mini backpacks, including a few that I am probably going to be purchasing (lol) to a couple that I wish were hanging in my closet!

A Trend That I am Loving: Embroidery

Looking back I have been fascinated by fashion as long as I can remember.  When I was a teenager, I used to buy embroidery thread and stitch flowers onto the back pockets of my jeans or the collar of a shirt.  I guess I just liked to fancy it up a bit… I always thought it looked so cute!  Too bad I didn’t hold onto my customized garments because my friends, embroidery is back big time!  I guess it was only matter of time because floral prints are always so popular.  What could be sweeter then a tiny patch of flowers embroidered onto a breezy sundress? Well look no farther because I have rounded up a bunch of adorable embroidered items for you to choose from! As cute as I thought my homemade jeans were, the Zara ones that I have found below could probably fill the void… ;))

One. Peasant top  //  Two. Navy striped blouse  //  Three. Light blue blouse  //  Four. Chambray Dress  //  Five. Dotted mesh top  //  Six.  Lace fit & flare dress  //   Seven. Yellow skirt  //  Eight. Double layer dress  //  Nine. Drop waist dress //  Ten. Tulle dress  //  Eleven. Navy maxi dress  // Twelve. Jeans  //  Thirteen. Jean skirt  //  Fourteen. Black skirt  //  Fifteen. Off the shoulder dress //  Sixteen. Clutch  //  Seventeen. Espadrille

What do you think? Are you loving this trend as much as I am?

Lunch at the Winery!

What better thing to do on a beautiful Friday afternoon then have a delicious lunch with a couple of my best girlfriends at one of our local wineries?! Maybe follow that lunch up with a wine tasting? Sounds like a plan!  That is exactly what I was fortunate enough to do a few weeks back and it was fabulous.  My two girlfriends and I met up at the Bacchus Bistro at the Chaberton Estate Winery.  We sat out on their lovely little back patio in the sunshine with a glass of wine and a light lunch.  When we finished up our meals we unanimously decided that we were not finished visiting yet and should probably stroll over to the wine shop and do a quick tasting ;))

For the wine tasting you get to choose from 4 of their available offered monthly selections for a fee of $5.00.  Upon purchase of a bottle, the fee is waived.  I am a fan of sweeter white wines and their Reserve Siegerrebe is one of my favourites!  Quite honestly, I enjoy most of their wines.  Let’s just say I have yet to pay the tasting fee on any of my visits as I tend to leave with a few bottles in hand!  Chaberton is one of my favourite local spots to go.

I have a couple more wineries close to home that I plan to visit before the summer is over… Stay tuned!
